About Argo Atlas

We find the megawatts that are already built.

Argo Atlas connects the plants that keep cities and industry running with the data centers that need firm power now. We are engineers and company builders who have designed treatment plants, run energy businesses and closed infrastructure deals.

Why we started

The grid has capacity hiding in plain sight.

AI is adding load faster than utilities can build new lines and power plants. Meanwhile, thousands of water, wastewater and industrial plants already on the grid could step aside for a few hours on its tightest days, if someone did the work to find that flexibility, model it carefully and contract it.

We have spent our careers on both sides of that problem. We have designed and commissioned treatment plants, so we know what an operator will and won't risk. We have built and sold energy businesses, so we know how to turn a plant's flexibility into a contract a buyer can count on.

Argo Atlas brings the two together: AI to find the plants, engineering models to prove what each can do, and one contract that works for the plant, the utility and the data center.

How we work

Principles we won't trade away.

01

The plant comes first

Treatment, production and safety set the limits. Operators make every move, and we never touch a control system.

02

Honest about limits

We tell a data center when flexibility won't count on its grid, and a plant when the value isn't worth its time.

03

One contract, no double counting

Plants and buyers each sign one contract with Argo. We never sell the same megawatt twice.

04

Modeled before promised

Every plant is modeled hour by hour and tested on site before its megawatts are committed.

05

Private by default

We never name a plant or a site publicly without written permission.

06

Built for the long run

Plants are paid fairly, buyers get capacity that holds, and the grid gets more reliable for everyone on it.

Miles Walker

Co-Founder & CEO

Miles has spent 25 years building sustainable infrastructure. As Executive Vice President of Energy at Woodard & Curran, the 1,300-person engineering firm, he ran a $12M P&L.

He co-founded NextGrid, an alternative energy credit aggregator he grew and sold, and built a community solar platform, Acadia Energy, with more than $80M in exits. He has developed over 50 MW of operating solar along with anaerobic digestion projects.

Justin Hines

Justin Hines

Co-Founder & VP Commercial Operations

Justin has spent nearly 15 years taking sustainable infrastructure from design to close. He started as a membrane bioreactor engineer at Microdyn-Nadir and Koch Membrane Systems, designing and commissioning wastewater plants from Chile to Namibia to the UAE, including the expansion of South America's largest membrane bioreactor.

At Cambrian Innovation he led commercial operations, closing $30M in new business, tripling the installed base and delivering the company's first water-as-a-service project, and he led diligence and integration for Cambrian's acquisition of a competing technology provider. He later advised utilities on supply chain at Wood Mackenzie and helped a Fortune 500 utility build a $200M+ pipeline of renewable natural gas projects.
